world, meet MOʻOLELE, an inter island voyaging canoe made in the 1970ʻs AND, it was completed before the hokuleʻa. On the island of maui, and in lahaina is where she was built, and still resides today. i see her all the time. but not as much as i used to. i miss voyaging lots. but i live THE WAʻA LIFE <3
I witnessed Wa’a Mo’olele, Wa’a E Ala, and Wa’a Hokulea all together as one Wa’a ‘Ohana. Look up their history online or simply ask a Hawaiian studies teacher.
I was also grateful to be sailing on Hokulea. It was a beautiful thing to have done and a beautiful thing to be apart of. It was also so inspirational and I felt so connected with my ancestors. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity that I will never take for granted.
Well……this is a semi finer work of mines. Don’t want to toot my own horn but, Honk Honk!!
